LUFS and True Peak Explained

LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) measures perceived loudness. Streaming platforms normalize to around -14 LUFS, so mastering much louder than that mainly costs you dynamics.

True Peak measures the actual maximum level including inter-sample peaks. Keeping true peak at or below -1 dBTP prevents distortion when your track is converted to MP3 or AAC.
